THE CERVIX

This picture below is a view of the cervix through a speculum,  there is no baby, you see that round  doughnut looking  thing you see there, that's is the cervix.  Most women never see theirs through out their life time,for a woman who has never given birth, its like a fish mouth, the cervix is like a gateway between the womb and the vagina.

It's that small hole that dilate and get widden until up to 10cm for the baby to pass through during labour,so not until that small round hole is able to accommodate the head of a baby,a woman cannot deliver, the cervix is also the place where the cervical plug called SHOW( cattarh  mixed with blood) comes from in  late pregnancy  or during labour.

The cervix is also called the neck of the uterus or womb, this is the place Doctor's passes the   catheter into for cervical ripening,  this is also the place Doctor's put the medicine for induction of labour, for women who complain of the penis getting to their womb during sex, it's not your womb,its the cervix you are feeling, and finally this is the place use to collect sample cell  for pap smear.
